The dojo is the place where we practice The Way, where we practice zazen. It is a simple, quiet place. Zen is not to be practiced alone, it has always been transmitted from master to disciple- I shin den shin, from my soul to your soul- always as part of a sangha. Master Deshimaru used to compare practicing in a dojo with a wood fire: the more wood, the more powerful the fire. In the dojo we help each other have a strong practice and forget about ourselves. To follow the rules of the dojo, the proper behavior, means to already set aside a part of the ego that monopolizes all our regular activities and find the real “me” who is sitting in zazen, complete.
Before sitting in zazen is very advisable to receive instructions from an experienced person in the Way
In the following Saturdays at five o'clock, there will be an introduction to the universal method of zazen. In these introductions, performed by Zen monks, is taught how to practice zazen and how to conduct yourself in a Zen dojo. Below zazen is practiced for half hour, followed by questions. Introduction lasts around one or two hours. It is necessary to come in comfortable clothing.
In 2010 there will introductions on these dates::
After the introduction, you can practice at the dojo just following the rules.
The Dojo Mokusan organizes daily zazen practice from Monday through Saturday. On the morning after practicing zazen we eat the Guenmai, a traditional rice soup
On Saturdays morning after zazen there is a small samu in the dojo: cleaning, review, save ...
On Monday at five o'clock in the afternoon we sew the kesa and rakusu.

The Mokusan Dojo is located in Campomanes street, 10 piso 5 door D - 28013 Metro: Opera or Santo Domingo. Madrid
